Dr. Edward Neal is offering a 6-weekend seminar, Introduction to Neijing Classical Acupuncture, which will begin in Portland, OR on January 28-29, 2012.
This course is appropriate for licensed acupuncturists, physician acupuncturists, teachers and acupuncture students. NCCAOM Professional Activity Credits is given for this class.
The course offers an in-depth introduction to the core principles of Neijing Classical Acupuncture. It is designed to give the practicing acupuncturist a solid introduction to the basic theories and practice of Neijing-style classical acupuncture. The course is taught entirely through original translations of classical source material that will be provided by the instructor. The class consists of six weekend meetings, that take place from January to October, 2012.
The curriculum for this class has been constructed around the examination of classical ‘seed’ concepts, with which a successful understanding of classical medicine may be established. At the conclusion of this course, the participant should be familiar with the core concepts of classical acupuncture as outlined within the Huangdi Neijing. This course is a pre-requisite for the Neijing Advanced Clinical Seminars.

of Dr. Edward Neal, MD – author, translator and teacher. Dr. Neal’s research examines the roots of classical Chinese acupuncture using direct translations of classical source texts, primarily the Huang Di Neijing Suwen 黃帝內經素問 and Huang Di Neijing Lingshu 黃帝內經靈樞. He is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Classical Chinese Medicine at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. He is a founding member and Director of the International Society for the Study of Classical Acupuncture (ISSCA), and writes and lectures internationally on topics related to Neijing Classical Acupuncture.
